About Me

My name is Hopi Maku

I have had a strong love for arts and crafts. I can still recall some of my earliest memories, which involve me waking up and immediately reaching for a pencil to start drawing. In 2021, at the age of 21, I decided to turn my passion into a business, and with the support of my family, I created 'Designs of Hope'. Despite facing numerous challenges due to my dyslexia, I remained determined to achieve my personal goals through my art.

My aim is to create a sense of serenity and hope for those who view my work, and I believe that my mandala designs are the perfect way to achieve this. I find designing mandalas to be a meditative experience, which brings me a great deal of happiness and calmness. I am particularly drawn to using mixed mediums and various artistic styles that reflect my deep connection to nature and animals.

Oh, and get this - my name, Hopi, means 'Peaceful Ones'. I mean, could it be any more perfect? Which is a reflection of my personality and my strong interest in native cultures. . I find inspiration in everything around me, from animals outside my window to pattern on my mums cloths, because As a visual person, I tend to absorb more through observation than through listening to explanations. So, if you see me staring off into space, don't worry, I'm just getting inspired. I am excited to see my creative seeds grow into beautiful flowers, and I look forward to sharing my art with the world.
